I grew up in a Catholic home and then when 18 joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Both churches claim divine authority to organize Christ’s Church. After thinking all my life that if I did not obey the church teachings/leaders, I was not obeying God, in 2021 I came to a crossroads, for the more I experienced the more contradictions I found in the church. As I searched I found similar contrdictions in all the churches I looked at. I pleaded with God like I had never done before. I was more earnest and desirous than ever before; I said I would believe whatever He revealed to me. I needed to know the truth! Over the following 3 years he opened my eyes and understanding to the Gospel of the Father.
My plea to God was in the beginning of 2021 and He took me on a journey of discovery since then. The first truth He revealed was how prideful I was. That hurt, that is not what I was asking, however I see now it was important. I said I would believe whatever He said. That led to many humbling experiences. Then He took me on a journey through the Old Testament. Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Micah, Hosea, Elijah and Isaiah. Then He guided me to the fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Then the earlier fathers, Shem, Noah, Enoch, Seth, Abel and Adam. Then He led me to the four Gospels and the words of the Messiah.
As I read the four Gospels, I kept saying. ‘How did I not see this before?’ Forty plus years of studying and now I am starting to see what Jesus was saying.
